GMAC Financial Services Statement on Governor Perdue’s Announcement on Charlotte Expansion

CHARLOTTE (March 20, 2009)
-- GMAC Financial Services confirmed that it has been awarded economic incentives by the state of North Carolina, the county of Mecklenburg and the city of Charlotte to expand its corporate operations in Charlotte.

GMAC has been approved for participation in the North Carolina Jobs Development Investment Grant Program (JDIG), as announced by Gov. Bev Perdue on March 20.   The multi-year agreement provides up to $4.5 million in economic incentives to GMAC in light of its December approval as a bank holding company and its subsequent commitment to increase its employment in the state through the expansion of its Charlotte Corporate Center.

In addition, the company is eligible for a Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Business Investment Program grant awarded by the Charlotte City Council and the Mecklenburg County Commission.

GMAC also has corporate centers or business operations in several cities around the world, including New York, New York, and Fort Washington, Penn.  The company’s headquarters is in Detroit, Mich.
